Bio

Micael The Son is an independent artist out of New Haven, Connecticut. He writes, produces, mixes, and masters each of his songs in his studio, Living Proof Media. His passion for music was ignited at a very young age, as he would sing at family events and many shows throughout his childhood. His love for hip-hop stemmed from his father, who introduced him to artists like Nas, Jay-Z, and Tupac as a child. Micael was also influenced by modern MCs such as J. Cole, Russ, and Drake. At the age of fifteen, Micael entered his first battle with depression, inspiring him to begin writing his own songs which he recorded in a small repurposed closet in his parent's basement. It wasn't long before he recognized that music was his purpose.

Micael was very reserved about his music throughout his high school years, treating it more like a therapeutic gateway than a possible career. It wasn't until his first semester at college in 2019, where he faced multiple obstacles in his personal life, that he shifted his focus toward pursuing music wholeheartedly. He set up his recording equipment in his dorm room, where he religiously honed his songwriting and production skills. He also began posting weekly freestyles on his social media pages which he titled "Freestyle Fridays," to beats that he produced. During that semester, Micael worked hard to build his own home studio in his new apartment. He decided at the end of the semester to take a break from school and commit himself fully to being an artist. Despite the pandemic, Micael relentlessly worked on creating new music and furthering his skillset as a producer and engineer. He released numerous singles and also completed his debut EP. 

In July of 2021, Micael suffered a brutal car accident resulting in physical injuries along with a diagnosis of PTSD. This traumatic experience would steer him off the path of artistry and put him on the road to recovery. The climb back would not be easy, but these challenging times would reshape Micael and ultimately change his life forever. Through persistence, faith, and a LOT of patience, Micael has returned to the stage and released his debut EP titled "Living Proof" on all platforms. He also has opened up his own studio called Living Proof Media in North Haven, CT, and has begun headlining shows. Today, under his independent label “Living Proof Entertainment”, Micael aims to inspire people through his music and powerful message of authenticity and self-belief.
